The Pneumatic Cartridge loader is a rugged built mechanical device designed to propel explosive cartridges (water gels and emulsions) into the borehole. The loading of cartridges in this manner leads to higher loading density in the borehole permitting expanded drill patterns and higher productivity (faster than loading and tamping individual cartridges).

Built entirely of aluminum, stainless steel and brass the loader is non-sparking and corrosion resistant to withstand the rigors of the mining environment and permit safe trouble free operation. Holes up to 100 meters long in any orientation (down, up or horizontal) can be loaded quickly (average loading rate 1 cartridge per second) and safely.
All parts are now machined using computerized machining process which give our product the repeatable tolerances needed for reliability and performance.

The loader is mounted on a tripod for stability, ergonomics, and ease of operation.
The loader is shipped in a convenient wooden crate with locking hasp, and nylon shoulder strap for ease of transportation.
Loader Operation
Description of Operation: Air by default is directed through the lower half of the loader and then down the semi-conductive loading hose. An operator drops a cartridge into the breech of the loader. As the cartridge slides down the barrel of the loader it compresses a trigger. When the trigger is compressed air flow is momentarily rerouted to the top of the loader. This causes the sealing flaps to open / close respectively. When the cartridge clears the trigger air is rerouted down the lower half of the loader body thus propelling the cartridge down the semi-conductive loading hose.
Note: This hole process occurs in a matter of milliseconds.
Loader Setup and Operation Video
This video shows the loader in operating in a underground mining application. This video is also available on DVD upon request.
Note: This video shows some of the discontinued models of loaders but the operation principles remain the same. A new video is going to be release very soon.

Changes in the CB**R series Loaders
The air supply line plumbing was enlarged and totally revamped to accommodate new style filters, and improved loader maintenance. Some seals and o-rings have changed to different material compounds and hardness to provide better performance. These changes have allowed the use of a lubricant that has eliminated the twice per shift oiling to an injection of lube once every 100 hours.
Stainless steel fittings replaced the older aluminum version that caused threads to gull on occasion. The regulator was replaced with a higher performance unit with a steel-retaining nut.
